Winter Run

I am supposed to be training for the Pocatello 50 but I haven't been very diligent.  It is hard to be motivated when it is dark and cold.
I love sunny days in the winter.

I love trail running in the snow.

I love hills.

I love my iphone camera.

100th Blog Post and the Best Christmas Eve Story

This is my 100th blog post.  Wow.  I am impressed.  I didn't think I would ever get this far.

Ok, now on to the best Christmas Eve story ever.

On Christmas Eve we went snowboarding with Mr. K's brothers and their families.  Guess who we saw on the bunny hill...Santa.  Turns out Santa can ski and he has candy cane skis.  I should have known since he lives in the North Pole.  Anyway, the Kboys wanted to have their picture taken with him so we waited for him at the bottom of the run.

Lot's of other kids and their parents started crowding around waiting for their turn to get a picture.

Santa was so jolly and gave each of the kids a candy cane.  After K4 said thank you he said, "Why do you stalk people?"  Santa smiled and said, "What?"  (He hadn't heard him or hadn't understood what he said.)  K4 said, "Why do you stalk people 'cause I think it's creepy that you watch people when they're sleeping.  It's just creepy!"  Several parents stifled laughter while others jaws dropped.  Most of the kids weren't paying attention but some looked confused.  Santa was taken off guard and retorted, "You don't have to worry about it because I'm not visiting you!"  K4 just smiled and walked off with his candy cane.  I guess I just never thought about it but he is right.  That is creepy!  It was so funny.

That kid is a thinker.

Merry Christmas!

Here is my Christmas post.  No rush, right?

This year we didn't cut our own tree.  Our K-team van doesn't have 4 wheel drive (much to Mr. K's chagrin!) and we didn't dare venture up into the mountains and risk getting stuck.  Luckily we found a nice guy who does have 4 wheel drive who cuts down trees and brings them down to sell to people like us.

While we were looking for the perfect tree, Honey Rabbit found the one he wanted.  I am not even sure it was a tree, it might have been  sage brush.  It was only 10 bucks so we bought it for Neverland.  The boys were so excited to have their own tree.  Unfortunately I don't think I got a picture of it.  Here is a picture of our tree.

The boys loved their quilt tops.

Yay!

I Did It!

I finished the last quilt top on Christmas Eve.  It was for the Rabbit, K5.  I left it until the last because I wasn't very happy with fabric.  I found some cute light blue flannel with cartoon rabbits but I couldn't find anything to match it.

I finally purchased two yards of white with green pin dots and about six or seven yards of yellow out of desperation.  The day before Christmas Eve I went to the local quilt store and the lady working there helped me find some fabric that I loved.
I am so happy with how it turned out!

Posting this 24 days later...
