Catching Up

This will be an eclectic post trying to catch up on our lives.  First up, Mr. K and the van.  When we bought the van I may have made a comment like, "Don't kidnappers drive white vans?" or something about the A-Team and their awesome black van.  It must have inspired Mr. K because the next thing you know he was watching youtube videos on how to paint your car with a spray can.

He used foil and plastic to mask it off.
Mr. K decided to do just the bumper to see how it looked.

Can you believe that I didn't take an after picture?  I was amazed that it turned out so well.  Mr. K did a great job!

These are one of my favorite types of pictures to take.

Super comfy.
They look so innocent when they are sleeping.
A cute picture of K5 playing trains with his uncle.

And lastly, K3.

This is his animal research poster.  It is pretty much the awesomest animal poster I've ever seen.

Except this part is a little bit disturbing.
Good thing it's just a picture.

Scrapbook Retreat

I went away for the weekend with my older sister

and my sister-in-law (it was her birthday)

to a scrapbook retreat.  I haven't scrapbooked for a long time!

We arrived Friday night and got checked in to the hotel.  Then we went into the conference room to get set up.  We got a lot of pages done and plenty of laughing and talking in too.  I even took a quick trip to the 1-hour photo center to pick up more pictures. Saturday morning my running schedule said to run 20 miles.  I optimistically thought it would be easy on the treadmill since I wouldn't be running up any mountains like I usually do.  Ha-ha-ha!  Treadmills suck!  Especially treadmills in a room next to the swimming pool.

The humidity was unbelievable!   Somehow I made it through.  Those were the hardest miles I have ever done and that is saying a lot!  After a quick shower I went back in for more scrapbooking.  Then we went to lunch at a local sandwich shop.  My meal was so amazing.  Just looking at the picture makes me want to go back.

We got a lot done thanks to a good supply of yummy treats and Dr. Pepper.
I need to do that more often.

Moss Experiment

My brother came over one day and saw moss growing in the dirt on the north side of our house.  It reminded him of Bill Nye the science guy doing an experiment so we decided to try it. We didn't have buttermilk so I poured a little bit of vinegar in regular milk to curdle it and then made a moss milkshake.

We decided to paint it on the recycled concrete wall Mr. K is building around the garden.

I didn't keep it moist for 3 weeks like it said to do so now the wall just looks dirty.  Maybe next spring...
